HIS epitaph should read: Tan Sri Syed Kechik Syed Mohamad — master political strategist, brilliant lawyer and businessman extraordinaire.
That more or less describes the Kedah-born business figure who assumed national prominence between 1967 and 1976, when he pulled no punches in helping then Sabah chief minister Tun Mustapha Datu Harun rein in the opposition and buttress his position as the most powerful man in the state.
For nine years, he ran Sabah for Mustapha, who wanted a man he could trust at his side, coaxing and cajoling political opponents besides strengthening the political and economic position of the charismatic Sabah strongman. ( Read more )
Anakdesa says no Sabahans cares whether this man dies or lives. Wonder if he brought all the riches that he stole from Sabah to he** with him. No Sabahans especially the poor folks had any fond memories of him except bad memories. He raped and robbed millions from Sabah and only left after making himself a multi-millionaire. Is it worth shedding tears for people that robbed your ‘house’?
These kinds of fellow even in the other world should be reborn as animal showing that the “robbed treasure” of all innocent and the future generation Sabahan. Mustapha, instead someone that once lived with a big heart to become a sultan, open the door widely to all his Filipino relatives entering Sabah legally, grab all the oppurtunities for local. Both of them deserved to be sentenced heavily even in hell. Too many beautiful things/memories/deed to be fully appreciated but those rascal brings nothing. Glamour in name and privelege, nothing even single good of them..
