Is money evil, so much so that people used to brand money as ‘the roots of all evil’? Or is it the love of money? Or is it power that is actual evil of all evils?
It is amazing how history keeps repeating itself…each time whenever party election is round the corner. It is as if or is it actually the facts that in politics and money/bribes cannot be separated. No matter how the party tend to curb and prevent such corruption, it will it never stop if the so-called leaders are greedy. It all boils up to the greediness of human beings. A true and sincere leader, if accepted by the rakyat, need not use money nor corrupt practice to be elected.
Money may indeed be a corrupting influence in politics though some UMNO leaders have refuse to acknowledge publicly that money/bribes was passed from some candidates to delegates be it at the party’s divisional or branch election. But recently, I notice that UMNO members Capt (R) Dato Zahar Hashim, Head of UMNO South PJ was so bold to accused the two top guns in UMNO for committing the biggest political corruption. Then UMNO veteran Dato Mazlan Harun report it to the ACA based on Capt (R) Dato Zahar Hashim’s statement. Are these action being bold or stupid or ’seppuku’ or disrespect or just being patriotic to UMNO? Will the action of these 2 members eliminate UMNO from money politics or will it create a bigger crack in the party and an advantage to the PR?
If it is true as what Capt (R) Dato Zahar Hashim claimed, then UMNO now is at the doorstep to doomsday. Do I really care or shed my tears if it does happen? Hemmmm… let me ponder on this fine point first or rather let me see if I still have any more tears to shed. I’ve been shedding too much tears lately. Meanwhile I just want to sing… Money..Money..Money
