KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 - …..the prime minister expressed his unhappiness with the speed of reforms pertaining to the judicial system, saying: “I can’t say that I’m very happy at the moment. But I am happy in terms of the ACA, which has already started to enhance its capability.” ( More…read here )Is our PM trying to tell the rakyat that the judicial system is still under the control by people like correct, correct, correct!
If the judicial system had not reform, how sure are we that, in case DSAI is charged, he will get a fair hearing? Will the CJ appoint someone like Augustin Paul to hear the case? Is the judge hearing the case be guided by an invisible hand? Will they be instructed as what Justice Ian Chin had exposed?
The PM is indirectly saying that the judicial system is still the same as before and therefore we will not see any justices to any high profile case such as the Altantuya nor the DSAI case (if it is brought to court).
A survey conducted by independent research firm Merdeka Center….A majority of those polled – 66 per cent , believe that the allegations against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim are politically motivated to disrupt his political career. In fact, 55 per cent of them did not believe in the allegations. Of this, the strongest support for Anwar comes from the Chinese and Indians polled.
Keeping in mind that the poll was carried out before Anwar’s arrest and the surfacing of the Pas-Umno talks, confidence in the institutions that would handle the sodomy allegations against him is low with just 33 per cent polled saying they were confident the police, judiciary and Attorney-General would carry out their roles in a fair and independent manner. Even the rakyat can see… No need for the PM to tell us…But it’s good that he admitted it lahh…at least we know what kind of judicial system we have in Malaysia. Afterall this is not AnakDesa’s opinion but rather a confirmation by our very own PM!
