PUTRAJAYA (July 11, 2008): The Anti-Corruption Agency has taken statements from Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan and Attorney General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail in connection with the report lodged by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim alleging that they fabricated evidence in the 1998 black-eye incident.
Reporters, who gathered at the ACA headquarters here on hearing that the two men will be called, saw Musa walk in just before 8.30am, and only left about 1pm.

He would only confirm that his statement was recorded, and refused to answer other questions.
Gani came in just before 10am and spent less than two hours. He also did not entertain questions from the reporters.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Anwar, who was former deputy prime minister, had lodged his report on July 1, alleging that Musa and Gani had fabricated evidence in the investigation into the infamous incident where he was given a black eye by then Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Noor, who later pleaded guilty in a court of law.
At the time of the incident, Musa was the investigating officer of the case against Anwar while AG Gani was the chief prosecutor.
Fabrication of evidence is an offence punishable by up to seven years’ imprisonment.
